Archive your precious old tapes

Bring your ageing multitracks back to life!!

Edensound Mastering is able to bake and transfer to digital all your analog multitrack and two track tapes in an easy and cost effective way.

You know, ones that are slowly but surely deteriorating and will eventually be unplayable and lost forever!

We are currently in the process of digitising a large back catalog of 24 track 2 inch 2 track ½ inch and ¼ inch, and various other formats including 32 track, 24 track and 48 track digital tapes.

Most of the tapes are old and need to be baked before they’ll play without falling apart. Once they’re baked we have a few days only to transfer the audio.

We catalog the tapes thoroughly, photograph the boxes and track sheets etc and upload all the files to our RAID array server. This is in turn backed up OFF SITE every night.

The clients are able then to log in to a web interface and see exactly which tapes have been transferred and look at all the details.

At a future time we can also arrange remixing and mastering in stereo and/or 5.1

Deep Purple Mixing - first EVER performance of Smoke on the Water!

Machine Head is often cited as influential in the development of the heavy
metal music genre. It is Deep Purple's most successful recording, topping
the charts in several countries following its release. The album reached
number 1 in the United Kingdom and stayed in the top 40 for 20 weeks. Deep
Purple recorded through December 1971 in Montreux, Switzerland, and released
the album in March 1972.

In celebration of the release, Deep Purple recorded at the BBC for their "In
Concert" live series on 9 March , 1972, with DJ Mike Harding as compere.
This recording features the only known live recording of "Never Before" (it
was out as a single at the time) and a rare Mk II offering of "Maybe I'm a
Leo". These two songs were played to promote the new forthcoming album
Machine Head, released at the end of the month (March 1972).
The recording of "Smoke on the Water" is the first ever live performance .

Now 40 years on , and in celebration of the 40th anniversary of one of
rock's great albums, the In Concert performances are finally being restored, remixed and mastered 96Khz 24bit by Martin Pullan.
