About Edensound Mixing and Mastering

Reputation is the reflection of achievement. Edensound Mastering has developed a solid reputation through consistently high standard output - the result of the expertise, the environment and the state of the art equipment the facility boasts.

As mastering becomes increasingly important in the modern recording process, Edensound has grown with the demands of artists across a broad range of musical and production styles.

Until recently, situated in the legendary Studio One at Armstrongs, Edensound has combined it's unique monitoring environment with arguably the finest mastering equipment available, being the first Australian facility to install the Focusrite Blue Mastering Suite.

English born engineer, Martin Pullan, has been at the helm at Edensound since its inception during the mid nineties. His reputation in the industry is one of high acclaim, the result of a career that has exposed him to almost every imaginable facet of music and audio production, performance and composition.

Focusrite Blue Mastering Suite

The investment in the Focusrite system has given the facility increased flexibility in both the process and final results available. The Focusrite EQ and Compressor are purpose built for mastering and allow for extremely fine tuning of program. The Focusrite Controller allows easy selection of any one (or more) of 8 sources. Comparison between source and result is easy. Also, different digital sources can be compared, for example the project being mastered and the client's favourite reference CD. Insert points can be switched in and out to hear each part of the chain in an instant.

The Focusrite Blue Series is a top of the range system and real pleasure to use, the results speak for themselves.

Deep Purple Mixing - first EVER performance of Smoke on the Water!

Machine Head is often cited as influential in the development of the heavy
metal music genre. It is Deep Purple's most successful recording, topping
the charts in several countries following its release. The album reached
number 1 in the United Kingdom and stayed in the top 40 for 20 weeks. Deep
Purple recorded through December 1971 in Montreux, Switzerland, and released
the album in March 1972.

In celebration of the release, Deep Purple recorded at the BBC for their "In
Concert" live series on 9 March , 1972, with DJ Mike Harding as compere.
This recording features the only known live recording of "Never Before" (it
was out as a single at the time) and a rare Mk II offering of "Maybe I'm a
Leo". These two songs were played to promote the new forthcoming album
Machine Head, released at the end of the month (March 1972).
The recording of "Smoke on the Water" is the first ever live performance .

Now 40 years on , and in celebration of the 40th anniversary of one of
rock's great albums, the In Concert performances are finally being restored, remixed and mastered 96Khz 24bit by Martin Pullan.
